Richard Bushell – Co-FounderRichard is a co-founder of Tr₂ Lab Partners and a seasoned lab operations and facility management professional with over 20 years of experience in the biotech sector. He was a key member of the R&D team that contributed to the development of the antibiotic NUZYRA
and has since led numerous successful lab buildouts, relocations, and decommissioning projects. Richard is recognized for his adaptability, problem-solving skills, and commitment to building efficient, compliant, and scalable lab environments. His expertise spans safety compliance, inventory systems, equipment lifecycle management, and international logistics—ensuring labs run smoothly and teams can focus on innovation.
Tenzin Yangdon - Co-FounderScientist, strategist, and chaos coordinator (the friendly kind). As co-founder of Tr₂ Lab Partners, I bring over a decade of lab experience—from mixing buffers and troubleshooting finicky instruments to leading RNA chemistry operations at Intellia Therapeutics. I've managed sgRNA synthesis teams, optimized procurement strategies, and kept programs running smoothly, always ensuring science moves fast, efficiently, and on budget.Before Tr₂, I was the go-to for lab operations—coordinating teams, onboarding scientists, negotiating with vendors, and writing SOPs that actually make sense. At the heart of it all, I’m a people-first problem-solver who loves mentoring and building strong lab cultures. Tr₂ is the next evolution of that vision: where great science meets operational excellence, and ideas don’t just spark—they grow. ?
Merlin Bushell – Security & Snack OversightMerlin is an Aussiedoodle who firmly believes he’s a majestic mountain wolf—but don’t be fooled. In reality, he’s a soft-living diva who thrives on treats and the comforts of domestic life. Known for flipping his bowl when snack time is delayed, Merlin refuses to step outside in the rain (it ruins his hair) and harbors a longstanding grudge against squirrels. He can usually be found faithfully at his papa’s side, offering vocal commentary to keep the UPS guy in line.
Zara Tan – Trail Scout & Delivery WatchdogZara’s breed is a mystery, but the current theory is: part dog, part fish. She’s happiest on the trail—rain or shine—by her mom’s side, and has no qualms about offering the FedEx driver some honest feedback if he gets too close. Zara also holds a deep-seated dislike for rabbits, who she’s convinced mock her from the bushes. Loyal, watchful, and always up for an adventure, Zara brings energy and honesty to the team.
